Karen Parkhurst, Walking In The “Fantastic Place”

“Whatever is wrong with you, is so right for me”. What is wrong in being black, Jewish, immigrant, blind, deaf or needing a wheelchair? The blind see the world’s beauty through music, deaf listen to poetry through paint, and the disabled strive to overcome. That was exactly what Karen did at the Happiness is the Road 2008 tour gig in Bournemouth, when she went in her wheelchair. Breaking paradigms, challenging physics, being “Brave”, parading “Sympathy”, Karen let Marillion music embrace her soul in celebration of a inseparable love.

You And Marillion - Heidi Huff Story

My name is Heidi Huff and I grew up in Minnesota (USA).  I was in high school the first time I heard Marillion.  I think it was 1988.  Tod, a boy I knew from school surprised me one day at the McDonalds where we worked by giving me a cassette tape including most of “Clutching at Straws”.   I am not sure why he did that, but I am so glad he did.

Laura Lulu in "When I Met God"

Sardinia, the Mediterranean emerald stuck in "The Space" between the Italian and Iberian peninsulas. A "Fantastic Place", where Laura Lulu found the music rare jewel, reflected into Marillion songs. As Laura mentioned," their music embraced my life like a warm sun, on a winter morning".

You And Marillion - The Journey

The eighties, in a small music shop a LP cover lost on the sale box, looking like a mysterious psycho painting, calls your attention: Marillion. The sales man, wearing a Bowie t-shirt, red leader pants, with a new wave hair cut, says  that the album is very good and you will have a pleasure journey.

At home, the new portable orange record player is about to rotate the sound that will change your life. The endless virtuosity journey invades your inside, and you decide that it will never leave. You wonder, how could that work of art, be half price? Was the world getting that artificial not to recognize such talent, or was this something so unique to be share with anyone? You are not sure about anyone, but there is certain someone that will enjoy the journey with you. Your best friend, and you cannot wait to share precious moments delighting in Marillion music, with he/she. You hide the new treasure in the deepest corner of your soul, because if anyone starch it, will be a pronounced dead. A couple cents latter you by your first Walkman, and that is a dream. The  "Lavender" walks in the park where majestic, except for the pen rewind tape exercise.

The Marillion music echoing in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the melting pot of diversity, the dizzying samba rhythm, the warmth of people's simplicity , an aspiring writer danced with the words lulled by Seasons End.

Once upon a time, a little girl named Lesli Olsson, moved by a writer's blood running through her veins, started to copy her old sisters poetry. “One fine day”, when  Lesli  was performing her daily copy ritual, her sister opens the door for Lesli's talent to finally emerge. Her sister took her by the hand, gave Lesli a notebook and told her: “if you want to write, do not copy, do it yourself and just let it flow”. Years later in 1990, Lesli, her sister and 85.000 people were touched by Marillions trilling performance at the Hollywood Rock Festival.

Holidays In Eden changing lives in Patagonia

Patagonia, is a small paradise in the southernmost corner of the world. In this small piece of the world where Mother Nature imposes all its majesty, Marillion crossed the Atlantic ocean with its blue wave Holiday In Eden and hit the heart of the lovely teenager Cintia Muros.
